GIRAFULL is excited to announce the opening of the Calling Tokyo 2024 applications!

This is your chance to be part of the team in the role of a Judge or Scorekeeper. 

The applications will close on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at 23:59 (anywhere in the world).

A selection will be made and communicated by March 11th, 2024.

ROLES AND EXPECTATIONS

We are looking for judges and scorekeepers staff to help with the event in the following roles:

  • Battle Hardened Head Judge
  • Floor Judge
  • Team Lead
  • Scorekeeper
  • Scorekeeper Lead

The outline of roles, responsibilities, and shift times above is an estimate of our staffing requirements for the event. Please note that these are subject to change, and may be adapted upon our final staff selection for the event. Your actual shift call times will vary by role.

 

If selected as part of the event staff, you will be expected to work a minimum of two days. The expected shift length is approximately 10–11 hours, with a one-hour lunch break and at least one thirty-minute break.

 

Judges are expected to arrive on time and in appropriate attire. Predominantly black pants, or similar, and predominantly black shoes. If you have one or multiple yellow judge shirts, please bring them to the event. Additionally, judge shirts can be provided in limited quantities. (Solicitation in the form)

STAFF COMPENSATION

The staff outlined below, will receive the following per day worked, based on their role for that day:

 

Floor Judge: 30000 Yen and 2 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

Scorekeeper: 30000 Yen and 2 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

Scorekeeper lead: 45000 Yen and 2 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

Team lead: 45000 Yen and 2 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

Based on the unique nature and responsibility of certain roles, If you are selected to the following, you will be required to work all three event days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Rather than receive compensation on a per day basis, these positions will instead receive a fixed compensation, which is cumulative of their confirmation of work for the entire Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the event.

Battle Hardened Head Judge: 135000 Yen and 6 boxes of MST Japanese language set product


Calling Head and Support Judge as well as World Premiere Head Judge application for this show are not open to apply for. The following are the pay rates:


Calling Head Judge: 200000 Yen and 6 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

Calling Support Judge: 165000 Yen and 6 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

World Premiere Head Judge: 165000 and 6 boxes of MST Japanese language set product

 

TRAVEL SPONSORSHIP

In addition to any of the staff compensation outlined above, Travel Sponsorship is available in limited quantities for applicants. It can be requested in the application process by responding to the travel sponsorship application question. Do note that travel sponsorship is extremely limited.

The following are the maximum that can be requested per region.

Asia (non Japan) max. 50000 Yen
Australia and New Zealand max. 80000 Yen
Europe/Americas max. 100000 Yen

 

STAFF RECOGNITION

All staff members, regardless of the number of days worked and their role, will receive a selection of promotional items for the event. This promotional gift is an expression of appreciation for the contributions from all staff working this event. These items should not be considered as part of, or in lieu of, your staff compensation for the event. Additionally, all staff members who are Certified Level 1 or above with the Judge Program will receive a selection of judge specific promotional items.

A staff celebration, with food, drinks, and booster drafts, will happen during the event weekend. The exact details of the staff celebration will be confirmed and communicated closer to the event.

以下のポジションのジャッジとスコアキーパーを募集します:

募集するロールやロールの責務、シフトの時間は、現状予定しているものです。スタッフの最終決定に応じて、変更される可能性がございます。実際のシフト時間はロールなどによって異なります。

 

イベントスタッフとして採用された場合、2日以上働くことが期待されます。イベントのシフトは10-11時間を見込んでおり、1時間のお昼休憩と30分の小休憩が含まれます。

 

ジャッジは時間通りに、適切な服装で会場にいることが求められます。用意していただくものは主に黒のズボンと黒の靴です。1枚以上黄色のジャッジシャツをお持ちの場合は、イベントに持参してください。必要枚数のジャッジシャツを持っていないジャッジには、応募画面で入力いただいたサイズのジャッジシャツが支給されます。
