tournamentcenter is excited to announce the opening of the 2024 Pro Tour Amsterdam Judge and Staff Applications!
This is your chance to be part of the team in the role of a Judge, Admin, Coverage or Scorekeeper.
The applications will close on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at 23:59 (anywhere in the world).
A selection will be made and communicated by Monday April 22nd, 2024.

ROLES AND EXPECTATIONS

We are looking for judges, scorekeepers, coverage and admin staff to help with the event in the following roles:

 

  • Friday (between 7:30am to 9:30pm) – Shift lengths 10-11 hours

    • Head Judge (Pro Tour & Calling)

  • Saturday (between 7:30am to 9:30pm) – Shift lengths 10-11 hours

  • We are looking for staff to work either two or three days:

    • Friday and Saturday

    • Friday, Saturday and Sunday

    • Saturday and Sunday

 

The outline of roles, responsibilities, and shift times above is an estimate of our staffing requirements for the event. Please note that these are subject to change, and may be adapted upon our final staff selection for the event. Your actual shift call times will vary by role.

 

If selected as part of the event staff, you will be expected to work a minimum of two days. Applicants who apply for all three event days will be given higher priority. The expected shift length is approximately 10-11 hours with a one-hour lunch break and at least one thirty-minute break.

 

Judges are expected to arrive on time and in appropriate attire. Predominantly black pants, or similar, and predominantly black shoes. If you have one or multiple yellow judge shirts, please bring them to the event. Additionally judge shirts can be provided in limited quantities.

 

Judges and Scorekeepers may be assigned to any of the following:

  • Pro Tour

  • Calling

  • Armory

  • Battle Hardened

  • Public Events (Including as Head Judge)

  • Professional Tournament Invitational

 

Judge Team Leads can be assigned to Team Lead a Team of judges, as Battle Hardended Support Judge or to Lead (a part of) Public Events.

 

Admin Staff may be assigned to any of the following:

  • Registration

  • Customer Service

  • Prize Wall

  • Event Ops

  • Coverage
  • Learn To Play

 

Coverage Writer: will require experience in writing (ideally about Flesh and Blood), experience in events and knowledge about the metagame. The expectation will be to write between 12 and 15 short articles over the three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) about an amount of pre-set topics during the weekend (side events, curiosities, Calling, Battle Hardened, artists, etc), ideally of between 200 and 300 words each.

 

STAFF COMPENSATION

The staff outlined below, will receive the following per day worked, based on their role:

  • Floor Judge: 200 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Team lead: 300 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Learn to Play Judge: 200 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Learn to Play Lead: 300 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Scorekeeper: 200 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Scorekeeper Lead: 300 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Admin: 200 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Admin Lead: 400 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Coverage writer: 300 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • Battle Hardened Head Judge: 400 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product


Head and Support Judge roles are not handled through this process, except for the Battle Hardened roles above. For transparency, these are the compensation rates:

  • PT or Calling Support Judge: 450 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product
  • PT or Calling Head Judge: 550 EUR and 2 boxes of current set product

All payments will happen in Euro.

After the show, you will receive an email with a link to the Wise platform, where you'll be able to enter your bank details.
You won't need to create an account with Wise.

TRAVEL STIPEND

You can apply for a Travel Stipend if you live outside of Europe. Travel sponsorships are very limited and can be requested in multiples of 100€, up to 400€. You may specify both your requested level of travel sponsorship (which we'll try to accommodate if we select you) as well as your required level of travel sponsorship (which we will honor if we select you). Note that having a high required travel sponsorship will reduce your chances of being selected due to the limited nature of these sponsorships.


STAFF RECOGNITION


All staff members, regardless of the number of days worked and their role, will receive a selection of promotional items for the event. This promotional gift is an expression of appreciation for the contributions from all staff working this event. These items should not be considered as part of, or in lieu of, your staff compensation for the event. Additionally, all staff members who are Certified Level 1 or above with the Judge Program will receive a selection of judge specific promotional items.

 

A staff celebration with food, drinks, and booster drafts, will happen during the event weekend. The exact details of the staff celebration will be confirmed and communicated closer to the event.

 

CONTRACT

 

Close to the event, you'll receive two DropboxSign Invitation Mails with a link to our contract and addendum for this event. There you'll be able to read and sign them online. Please do so before the event! If you have any questions about this, please send them to staff@tournamentcenter.biz.

In order to generate these documents, we will ask you for the following information in the Acceptance Form:

Your name

Your TIN (ID number, Insurance Number, National number, etc)
