Event Information

Welcome to the first Americas Georegion Conference!

We are happy to announce this conference for the Americas Georegion, and invite you to Washington DC.

This is a special conference centered on the Americas region but welcoming everyone, aimed at having an amazing time of sharing, education and community building.

What is a georegional conference?

A georegional conference is a special type of conference meant to bring the community of the georegion (and beyond) together to learn and grow in a weekend full of seminars, workshops but also good food, activities and adventures!

Overview

The conference will be 9:00am-3:30pm on Saturday and 1:15pm-6:45pm on Sunday
There will also be social activities in the morning/evenings for people interested.

In order to provide some snacks and refreshments, we will be collecting $40 from every attendee, directly at the event. We are looking for someone to assist with organizing this, if you are interested, please indicate on the presenter form.

There will be attendee and presenter support.
You need to attend all but 1 seminar/workshops to be eligible for receiving attendee support.

This event does have a cap of 86 judges and we highly encourage you to write a cover letter.
We will process the acceptances based on these criteria
1) We will prioritize Judges from the Americas regions.
2) We will accept at least 1 Judge per region (so you can share what you've learned with your community).
3) We will accept Judges that are working towards L2 and have completed most of the checklist.
4) We will also request feedbacks to the JCRs in case of need, to evaluate community involvement and mentoring activity.

We strongly encourage you to write a good cover letter, outlining why you'd like to attend this Conference and your involvement in the Judge Community, especially if you've been on Staff on a few Premier Events.

We will processing acceptances every week, to allow attendees to plan accordingly. We recommend you apply at your earliest convenience.

We will not decline some of the applications once the cap is met. If any of the accepted judges withdraw, we will process more acceptances till we reach full capacity again.
