My name is Travis Lauro, and on behalf of the Hunter Burton Memorial team, I’m excited to share with you the details for the 2025 Hunter Burton Memorial Open. For the past several years, this event has been a mainstay in the North Texas area and continues to support Suicide Awareness and Prevention.

This year's HBMO will feature a Pro Quest+ event on Saturday and an Armory event both Friday and Sunday.

Lodging and Travel

To make your weekend easier, we would like to provide lodging at the hotel attached to the venue if needed. After staff is finalized, we will determine what everyone needs and get it booked for you. Expectation should be two judges to a room, and we’ll try to honor whatever requests you have.

Additionally, to facilitate travel for staff traveling great distances, travel sponsorship will be offered to the accepted staff, which can be used to reimburse your travel costs; the exact amount will depend on need. Receipts for travel expenses, such as flight, gas, tolls, or meals, will be required to receive your travel sponsorship reimbursement. Travel sponsorship recipients will be notified of their award at the time of staff selection.

Perks and Swag

All volunteers for the 2025 Hunter Burton Memorial Open will receive a swag bag with some goodies. We have a catered lunch scheduled for each day. Additionally, this year, volunteers will receive a staff shirt for use at this event and other events. Your swag bag will include:

Staff Party

As a thank you for all the hard work done by our volunteer staff all weekend, we will be hosting a staff party at Bronco’s Sports Bar & Grill near the event venue on Sunday night. Food will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase.
