We will be utilizing the SCG Judge Discord for event information and updates as well providing more direct access to our staff before, during, and after events.

HOW TO APPLY

All applicants must be Level 1+ at the time of application. Please complete all questions to the best of your ability. Note that Floor Judges are not eligible for travel sponsorship.

The application window for this event will close at 11:59 PM Pacific time on Monday, April 7th, 2025.

United States Nationals Weekend will take place on June 6-8, 2025 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Available Roles

  • Floor Judge (3 Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set
  • Floor Judge (2 Day) - $500 and two (2) boxes of current set
  • Game Attendent (3 Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set
  • Prize Wall (3-Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set

AVAILABLE ROLES AND COMPENSATION

Floor Judge (3 Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set

Floor Judge (2 Day) - $500 and two (2) boxes of current set

Floor Judges must be Level 1+. Floor Judge shifts last approximately ten hours with a 1-hour lunch break. Floor Judges make up the backbone of the event staff and have more certainty on the end time of their shift.

Approximate shift times:

  • Friday – 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Saturday – 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Sunday – 8:30 am – 6:30 pm

Judges for Two (2) days will work either Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday. There are application questions to indicate your availability.

Game Attendent (3 Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set

Game Attendents assist Coverage with spotting at feature matches. This position requires strong attention to detail and comfort interacting with high profile players.

Approximate shift times:

  • Friday – Start of Broadcast to End of Broadcast
  • Saturday – Start of Broadcast to End of Broadcast
  • Sunday – Start of Broadcast to End of Broadcast

Prize Wall (3-Day) - $750 and four (4) boxes of current set

Prize Wall shifts last approximately ten hours with a 1-hour lunch break. Prize Wall staff focus on serving players redeeming their Prize Wall tickets for special prizes.

Approximate shift times:

  • Friday - 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
  • Saturday - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm or 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
  • Sunday - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

EXPECTATIONS

Judges at Star City Games events are expected to positively contribute to the atmosphere of the event. They should behave in a professional manner at all times and constructively engage with players and other staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all attendees. Judges are expected to arrive on time and in appropriate attire to begin judging at the start of their assigned shifts.

Judges are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Tournament Rules and Policy, Comprehensive Rules, and Penalty Guidelines. These documents can be found at the Flesh and Blood Rules and Policy Center.

UNIFORM

Judges at United States Nationals Weekend should bring their own Flesh and Blood judge shirt. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. For the rest of your uniform, please arrive with black pants and black, comfortable shoes. We ask that you do not wear a hat or other prominent accessories while on shift.

During breaks, or any other time that a judge is off duty, we suggest that you remove or cover your Staff Shirt to indicate you are not available.

If you have concerns, or religious reasons that our dress code is an issue for you, please reach out so we can discuss accommodations.

CONTRACT AND TAX INFORMATION

Judges are independent contractors and will be required to sign an event contract for their work at SCG CON. Compensation for judges that are residents of the United States will be provided in the form of a check at the conclusion of your final shift of the weekend or mailed to your address following the event. International judges will receive their compensation in the form of a PayPal payment the week following the event instead. All Judges are required to submit a valid US tax form (W-9 or W-8 BEN) to Star City Games, to receive compensation.
