Exams on JudgeHub
JudgeHub provides a secure platform for judges to take exams related to certification within the Flesh and Blood Judge Program.
Exam Confidentiality
All exam content is confidential. To protect the integrity of the test for future test-takers, you are PROHIBITED from sharing any question on this exam with any other person, except under the following conditions:
- You have submitted your exam for scoring,
- You want to discuss the question with a mentor,
- You share only the questions that you intend to discuss, AND
- You share them only with the individual with whom you are discussing the question.
Any wider distribution of this content, including but not limited to sharing to a "study group" or other group of judges or candidates, posting publicly online, or posting in any public place, is not permitted. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including revocation of JudgeHub access.
Also, for the avoidance of doubt, the mentor in question needs to have already passed the exam (you can’t share the question with someone else who is also going for the same level as you).
Exam Interface
Most exams on JudgeHub have a time limit – that time limit starts when you first view the questions (not the creation of the exam). Exams that are created but not started will expire after an extended period of time (the judge creating the exam will get an email warning before this happens).
There are two types of answers to an exam question: single choice and multi select.
- Single choice questions have round (radio button) choices for selecting your answer and only let you select a single correct answer.
- Multi select questions end with (Select all that apply.) and have square [check box] choices for selecting your answers, you must select all the correct answers and none of the wrong answers to receive credit for these questions.
Next to each answer you will see a minus sign, selecting this hides the answer. This is intended to allow you to eliminate choices that you know are incorrect. If you want to see those choices again you can click the text that says [Restore hidden answers for this question] at the bottom of the choices (this text will not appear until you hide a choice).
After the question you will see all the cards referenced in this question. The image shown is the most recent printing of the card, to see the exact current text of the card click it and the card will flip over to show a text only version.
If you want to take a break you can press the “Save Progress” button at the top or bottom of the exam to send the answers you’ve selected to the server, you can still change those answers later. If you leave the page without doing that your selections will not be saved.
Once you’ve answered all the questions you can press “Submit for Grading” – this will take you to a final confirmation that you’re ready to submit and then reveal your results.
After you’ve gotten your results you can review all the questions to see your answer, the correct answer, and the official explanation of the correct answer (including the document citations). If you have feedback on a question after reviewing this you can click the feedback link at the start of the question to leave a comment.
Exam Conventions
All questions use the rules as written and are using the current versions of the Comprehensive Rules, Tournament Rules and Policy, Penalty Guidelines, and Judge Code of Conduct.
Assume all players are taking legal actions (including announcing triggers) unless otherwise specified.
Note: as of JudgeHub launch the Release Notes for sets have not been updated for Comprehensive Rules 2.0 and may provide inaccurate guidance, use them at your own risk.
All characters in the exams are referred to using they/them pronouns. This means that you will see use of the singular “they” when referring to a single character. When more than one character is intended to be included in a description it will be clearly stated (through things like “they both” or naming all relevant characters).
The same names are used for characters in specific roles through the entire exam:
- Turn Player - Tyler
- Non-turn Player - Nic
- Additional Non-turn players - Alex then Blake
- Judge - Jo
- Spectator - Sam
- Tournament Organizer - Ollie
Use of Outside Resources
While taking an exam you may access any documents and notes (such as the Comprehensive Rules, Tournament Rules and Policy page, Procedure and Penalty Guide, Back Alley Oracle articles, articles on other websites, etc) but you may not discuss with other judges.
For the avoidance of doubt you may not ask about the exam content on the JudgeHub Discord (sharing questions there is also a violation of the confidentiality policy) or ask any other individual you know (even if they are not a judge).
If you believe there is an error on the exam you should complete the exam to the best of your ability and then submit feedback on the question using the feedback link after the correct answers and explanations are shown.
